Preventing Cancer for a Healthier Future
A consortium of leading institutions in cancer prevention bridging research, policy and practice across Europe since 2018.
Cancer Prevention Europe (CPE) is committed to reducing the cancer burden across Europe by advancing prevention research and strategies at all levels—primary, secondary, and tertiary. We bring together leading institutes to translate scientific evidence into effective, equitable action. Our mission rests on four pillars:
Advancing cancer prevention by identifying risk factors and leveraging novel methodologies, technologies.
Promoting research that evaluates, refines, and scales effective prevention strategies to close the evidence gap.
Advocating for policies that ensure cancer prevention is prioritized and integrated into public health systems at the European level.
Empowering the next generation of researchers and practitioners through training and leadership initiatives.
CPE envisions a future where cancer prevention is a cornerstone of public health in Europe, with collaborative, sustainable, and evidence-based strategies that benefit all populations.

Activities aimed at promoting the consortium’s work and engaging stakeholders through communication and dissemination and development of workshops as well as presence at various conferences and summer schools.
A platform for collecting and sharing evidence on cancer prevention interventions to support research, policy, and practice.
Reflecting our contribution to the evidence base and the advancement of cancer prevention research and strategies.
Establishing a collaborative infrastructure to integrate genetic, lifestyle, and clinical data among cancer previvors.
Digital platform designed to centralise, connect, and expand access to knowledge, resources, tools, and expertise in cancer prevention across Europe.
The Early Career Network (ECN) is a transversal structure within Cancer Prevention Europe, bringing together early-career researchers and professionals to contribute to, shape, and lead activities across the consortium.
The ECN is composed of early-career representatives from member institutions, with institutions encouraged to designate at least two representatives.
ECN activities are coordinated and developed in collaboration with the Scientific Secretariat, in alignment with the Steering Group.
